BRENDA-LEE HEATHCOTE WINS A.S.A. “RUDY BRANDSMA AWARD” 2007

Brenda-Lee has won the prestigeous "Rudy Brandsma Award” at this year's National Australian Songwriter's Awards. The "Rudy Brandsma" award is given for excellence in songwriting and chosen from all entries submitted, besides the winning songs from each catagory (which totalled almost 4000 entries this year) The highly coveted prize is given to one writer each year, in honour of the late co-founder of the ASA, Rudy Brandsma.

The ceremony took place at Ashfield in Sydney, on Thursday night, the 30th of August. Brenda-Lee performed her winning song, "So This Is Life" with her partner Scott Lloyd Shelly accompanying her on piano. The song is dedicated to her late brother, Brian James Heathcote.
